Our Review

WHAT REMAINS TRUE by Nancy Naigle is about making changes in your life that suit you. Welcome to Antler Creek, small town USA, where Merry Anna Foster has taken a break from her harried life after divorcing her cheating husband. Worse yet, she’s paying him alimony and he’s complaining he’s not getting enough money. Merry has stopped in this town and fallen in love with the lifestyle but is still thinking about returning home when she makes a bet with her ex over his request for more alimony—so she is settling in to live on what she’s earning at her job, which she has gotten for three months. The reader is introduced to several wonderful characters who live in the town, one who is moving into the area, a handsome rodeo star with a dream of how he wants his life to go. Of course, there’s a lot of background about Merry, her family and her ex. I loved the store where Merry works and learned a lot about what a barn quilt is. So does Merry, who already loves both her job and the small town, finds a new love, and has to make a life-changing decision to stay. That’s up to you the reader to enjoy finding out. Also, this tale has its bumps in the road that make the story more interesting.
