Our Review

THE WHOLE PACKAGE by Marie Harte is the first book in the Veteran Movers series.  It held my interest from the beginning. Note: the story has a lot of heat, hot-between-the-sheets moments, and swearing.

Reid and Naomi meet when she pitches a proposal to offer his moving company, Vets on the Go!, better PR and marketing through her boutique firm. There is chemistry between the leads from the first. Neither wants to mix business and pleasure, but things have a way of happening.

One minute Reid is hot with Naomi, and the next he is being a gentleman, showing kindness, running a business, and being there for his brother. Reid definitely has a heart, which he shows us over and over again.

There are a lot of funny characters, many of them veterans and employed by Vets on the Go!  We learn about the lives of Reid, Naomi, and their families, but there are a few loose ends not tied up by the end of the story. There are several story-lines going on. The one between Naomi and her former boss and boyfriend is woven throughout but never really ties up since they are working together once again.

I liked many of the vets and their stories and loved the concept of the company that hires them. THE WHOLE PACKAGE is filled with romance, dysfunctional families, and all the emotions that go through relationships. There is closure to Reid and Naomi’s story with a happily ever after, but it didn’t go far enough for me.

Ms. Harte is a new-to-me author, and I can’t believe I haven’t read any of her books before this one. Pick up THE WHOLE PACKAGE for an entertaining contemporary romance.
