Our Review

THE WAY OF THE BRAVE is the first book in the Global Search and Rescue series, and I have the next two books waiting in the wings to be read. This book has memories of time spent in Afghanistan while many served there. The story is set in New York and Alaska. Denali is the main backdrop of the story, and it is filled with action and adventure. God plays an important role to some, and faith seeps its way into others as they start to believe.

This is mainly Orion (Ry) and Jenny’s romance, but the supporting cast add additional layers. When Jenny and two of her friends decide to climb Denali, they don’t realize the connection they will have to the mountain but also to those who rescue them. Jenny and Ry have a history from Afghanistan, but she knows of the others too.

There are multiple stories being told and plenty of details interspersed throughout the plot. Some confusion had me rereading, as the information provided seemed as if it should have come earlier in the book.

The descriptions of the icy climate and mountains made me feel like I was there. I kept turning the pages to see what would happen next! The last chapter gives hints of what’s to come. I can’t wait to meet up with this group again! THE WAY OF THE BRAVE is an exciting, inspirational romance that kept me glued to the pages.

Ms. Warren is a new-to-me author. I look forward to reading more of her books.
