Our Review

THE LAST REAL COWBOY continues the COLD RIVER RANCH series, and it’s great to be back with the Everett, the Kittredge, and the Douglas families. I like getting to know Amanda and Brady better. She understands him better than anyone, even his own brothers. The couple aren’t in a real relationship. He’s just showing her the ropes—in secret, with no one else knowing—about kissing and intimacy. Watching their interactions is both amusing and at times too hot to handle!

The author shows characters we’ve met before, giving us a glimpse into how their lives have changed and become richer since they’ve learned to love. Amanda’s family dynamics are clear, making it possible to see why Brady felt more comfortable at their house than his own when growing up. Brady’s father greatly contributed to the family dysfunction, especially to his three sons who have to learn to communicate with each other and be heard.

THE LAST REAL COWBOY has wonderful descriptions of the scenery, planting the reader right into ranch life. The story has great pacing and an emotional depth. I’m happy to see that SECRET NIGHTS WITH THE COWBOY will continue the series. I can’t wait to read it.
