Our Review

QUARTER TO MIDNIGHT is a book that grabs the reader by the throat and refuses to release you until you reach the end.

After serving in the Marines, Molly Sutton takes a job with her former CO, Burke Broussard, as a private investigator for his company. When he is approached by the son of his best friend to investigate his father’s death, Burke turns over the investigation to Molly because he knows she has a talent for ferreting out information and solving puzzles that most other people cannot see. What Molly did not expect was that Burke would pair her up with Gabe Hebert, the son of his friend who is a professional chef and not an investigator to figure out what happened to Gabe’s father.

Gabe and Molly discover Gabe’s father, a former police officer, was investigating an incident that happened years ago…something that led to murder. As they follow the clues left by Gabe’s dad, they realize their own lives are in danger. Can they unravel the puzzle pieces and figure out what happened, who is involved, and bring them to justice before their own lives are lost?

Karen Rose is an amazing author. This is the type of book you can’t put down until you reach the end, so be prepared to order takeout. New Orleans is a city filled with mystery and intrigue, which makes it the perfect setting for this story. I loved this book and can’t wait to see what Ms. Rose creates next. What a wild ride!
