Excerpt

“Did you…” She didn’t know what to say. He leaned into her and placed his lips on hers. Her body woke up to his touch, making her lean into him, trying to let her body touch him more. He broke off, breathing heavily, his hot breath turning Kindra on even more. She could smell him, an earthy tone with a hint of soap. She felt her heat getting ready for him, a coil tightened around her that only he could release.

“I didn’t know that was going to happen. But I’m glad it did.” Judden’s face was inches away from Kindra’s.

“What do you mean? What was that you shocked me with?” Kindra was baffled.

“Well that’s hard to explain, but I’m glad I found you.”

“You’re scaring me a little.” Her body went rigid in his cage of human flesh. He smiled at her.

“Don’t be scared.” A wave of relaxation came with Judden’s words. She felt safer around him than she should. There was a calming warmth that wrapped around her, soothing her heart rate a little. The door swung open and everyone came out clapping. She felt like an ant under a microscope making her feel uncomfortable.

“Why are they clapping?” Kindra bit her lower lip, she hated being on the outside of the joke.

Judden sighed. “I wish you guys were patient.” He turned to glare at them.

“Come on, explain what happened.” Brad’s voice sounded like he was enjoying this. Another sigh escaped Judden’s lips.

“Fine.” He turned his head back to Kindra. “Please don’t freak out but that was an imprint.”

Kindra racked her brain to remember why that word sounded familiar. She let her mind spin around, searching for the correlation with imprinting.  It clicked: Oh my gosh, werewolves imprinted on women. Her eyes widened at the conclusion of her life changing the moment she touched him. She had heard rumors of werewolves finding mates in humans, but in California it was a rare occurrence especially where she lived in the hot desert.

“You mean…” She paused, her voice shaking. She took a deep breath then tried again. “What you’re saying is…” Nope she couldn’t bring herself to say anything else. Every thought raced through her head from what her family was going to say to what she was going to do. Judden waited patiently for her to process, like he understood she needed a moment.

Author Interview:

Please tell us a little bit about your current projects? I have two one is called Shifting Tactics about a woman who just go a divorce that has imprinted with two alphas name Oscar and Rift. They are dealing with rouge werewolves and another pack wanting their land. My other one has a working title as Red Eclipse about a witch who is on the run and ends up imprinting with a werewolf who is an enforcer for his pack. He must keep everyone in line while protecting her from her past.

When was the moment that you knew you had to be a writer? When my father read my story without my knowledge and told me that I needed to finish the story.

Who gave you the one piece of writing advice that sticks with you to this day? A friend named Summer told me that no matter what you need to finish the story, even if you don’t ever do anything with it just finish.

Describe the “perfect” hero. What about the “perfect” hero for you?

What are some of your favorite pastimes? Do you have any hobbies or collections? I like to do almost anything that lets me create something. I like to paint, knit, draw and I have even made a bench. My next big project next summer is a table.

What has been your biggest adventure to date? If your fairy godmother waved her wand and whisked you away to the location of your choice, which place would you choose, and why? I would choose Rome. I have always wanted to go there then I could take a train to everywhere in Europe.

When it comes to food, are you the adventurous type who will try anything once, or do you prefer to stick to tried and true foods and recipes? I would say I am half and half. I don’t do spicy! But I will try new items that don’t have a spicy side.

What is this romance writer’s idea of the “ideal romantic evening”? My ideal night out would be going with my husband to dinner at nice place, seeing a movie we would both enjoy after and then come home to share a nice hot bath together.

How do you describe yourself? How would your family and friends describe you? I would say that I am strong willed while my family calls me a lover and not a fighter.

What is your favorite comfort food? My comfort food would have to be anything with pumpkin. I love it in pies, I love it in drinks, and I am even thinking of trying to put it in ice cream.

What is your favorite season? What do you love about it? Summer because I really like the heat.

What is the one modern convenience that you cannot do without? I need my phone as I work on it and play on it. Plus it helps keep my son quiet when his phone is dead.

What project are you working on next? Once I finish parts one for Shifting Tactics and Red Eclipse I will continue those stories.

Any place we can find you in person or on the net this month or next? I so far have one take over next month at A night of Paranormal Romance on Facebook.
