It’s been said so many times that it’s almost a cliché. If you want to write for a certain genre then read extensively in that genre. If you want to write for Love Inspired, read Love Inspired. Don’t just read the words, examine the plot. Find out why the characters do what they do when they do it. Read how the book is paced and how the characters interact. I’ve read a number of books by aspiring writers who want to write for Love Inspired and I wonder if they’ve ever truly examined how Love Inspired books are written. You have to respect the genre and understand it if you want to write for it.

I have a bedroom that was converted into my office years ago. There is a small couch in it, bookshelves and my writing desk of course. The best part is, for my birthday, my husband installed a bay window for me to look out when I’m writing. It’s amazing.
