Name the most romantic movie of all time?

For me, it would have to be something a little bittersweet, maybe even a tad heartbreaking, like the film adaptation of Jane Austen's Mansfield Park.

* Name the most romantic song of all time?

Okay, this is a really old song, but I love Moonriver--think its gorgeous and it always makes my heart feel a little pang.

* What is the most romantic romance book you've ever read?

This isn't the answer you'd expect, because it's not a romance book, but it symbolizes love and sacrifice, and that's Charles Dickens' Tale of Two Cities. I also love novels by the Brontes....I'm a big fan of all the classics.

* What is the most romantic present a lover could give you?

A gift he made himself, or something very simple and lovely that comes from the heart and not the wallet.

* What is the most romantic present you have ever given a lover?

I made a scrapbook and copied things from my journal and poetry I'd written about him/us and included it with photos. It's kind of embarrassing--poetry is so personal--but I wanted the gift to be very personal.

* What is your idea of the most romantic date?

I love candle light and moonlight and toasty fires--so it could be anywhere where the lights are dim and its quiet and I can see the face of the one I love in flickering firelight.

* Tell us the most romantic thing that has happened to you?

My boyfriend made me a DVD of me learning to surf with him and took the surf session and set it to music and at the very end, where he gives me a hug and a kiss, the hug and kiss match up with the song lyrics, "and I love you." It's a beautiful movie and watching it makes me feel close to him despite the distance. (I live in Seattle and he lives in Hawaii.)

* What's your idea of the most romantic meal?

I love shrimp and crab, a glass of chilled wine or champagne, a crisp salad, and something really yummy for dessert.

* If you could go anywhere, where would be your choice for the most romantic vacation?

Now that I date a surfer, I think I'd love to go to a very remote island in the South Seas, and he could surf and I could read during the day and then at night we could eat fresh fish and sleep listening to the sound of the waves.
