Author Kimber Chin

I write contemporary romances set in the sexy world of business. Why business? Because men in suits are hot, hot, hot! (Every week on http://businessromance.com/ I feature a photo) I'm a businessgal at heart. My year is split between writing and business and I wouldn't
have it any other way.

On the personal front, I fell in love at first sight with a wonderful man. He is tall, dark, and handsome (and Asian, I had to marry to get the Chin name). We love to travel so my novels are always set in different places.

5 Ribbons from Romance Junkies
"Kimber Chin’s INVISIBLE is truly a delightful venture that captures the imagination from the very first page and holds you captive through to the very end. Birger passes away early in the story but through his puzzle he’s able to bring two people he obviously cares a great deal about together. Hagen and Maeve are very different and rub each other the wrong way when they first meet but they work well together and little by little they come to rely on each other. Ms. Chin gives readers incredible insight into Maeve’s background and through that you’re able to understand more about who she is and why she is so intense and made it a point to be able to become INVISIBLE. Beautifully done Ms. Chin! I thoroughly enjoyed sharing this venture with Hagen and Maeve.

Trevas at eBookGuru.org writes…
“Kimber puts you right into the minds of the main characters of this book, and as you read you’ll find yourself feeling what they feel, grieving with them, loving with them, and in general getting to know the characters very well. The effect of this style is that the hero and heroin in this book become two of the most well rounded characters you will ever share a story with, and you find yourself being able envision everything as it plays out in the book.”

Mystery/Contemporary Romance

Excerpt

Those sparkling emerald eyes narrowed. “I’m not helping you.”

He didn’t believe that for a second. If she wasn’t planning on helping, she wouldn’t have come. She would have gotten on that damn flight.

That the thought of her flying off somewhere, leaving his ass on his own, pissed him off completely, and made no damn sense. Shit, he had to get that damn deed and then get as far as hell away from this woman before he, too, went insane.

“Yes, I don’t know either.” Time for another dramatic rounding of his shoulders, he should have been on damn Broadway. “Guess we’re out of luck.”

“There is no we.” She picked up that hideously plain black bag of hers. “I’ve had it with this stupidity. I’m leaving.”

Like hell she was.

“No.” Hagen reacted instantly, clasping her wiggling little body against his chest, her feet kicking in the air. “You’re not going anywhere. You have to help me first.”

She actually looked scared for a second or two. She shouldn’t have been. Hagen would never hurt her. “I don’t have to do anything, you big oaf.”

Not that scared apparently. Hagen grinned. She was fierce, a fighter. “You know Maeve, I have the urge to kiss you.” Now why did he have to go and say that? It was true but he shouldn’t have said it out loud.

“And I have the urge to kick you so hard in the groin that you won’t be able to stand straight for five full days. Let me know if we’re indulging urges,” she spat at him.

Hagen chuckled. It would be tempting to give it a try if he wasn’t so damn certain she’d follow through. At the moment, he didn’t relish a nut crusher. “Come on Maeve. Help me please.”

I laughed when an author buddy told me she wanted to read about 'normal' characters. Who is normal? I know I'm not. I'm so demented I don't think I could write a 'normal' character. It would have to be fiction.

I go to the grocery store so often in my pajamas that when I wear jeans, the cashiers ask me what the occasion is. I dress up as giant fruit to pitch a new juice box to an executive team. I wore a moose hat (with HUGE horns) to the movie theater because my eight year old niece wanted to wear her buffalo hat but didn't want to get laughed at (she didn't, everyone was staring at my head - my hat had its own seat).

None of us are normal. And I like it that way. It makes us interesting, unique. So my characters are Abby Normal also (Young Frankenstein is one of my fave movies of all time). They have issues, usually with relationships. They're older and there are reasons why these driven, successful people are single.

But they don't wear moose hats. That would simply be silly.

When a business secret is shared, can love survive?

I read two types of books - romance and business. That
makes for a funky mix.

Ravished from Amanda Quick - I LOVE my beast books and
this is one of the best

Leadership And The Sexes from Michael Gurian and Barbara
Annis - I have three brothers and this book taught me more about men than I ever learned from them

What Men Don't Tell Women About Business from
Christopher V. Flett - This is more about alpha dynamics (real alphas, not romance alphas) than business, the best book on alphas I've ever read

The Naked Marquis from Sally MacKenzie - LMAO, I've
bought thisRegency at least 3 times (I keep giving it away)

Q: How did you and your husband meet? When and where did he propose?

The hubby and I met through a mutual friend. I was in my buddy's room playing video games when this university man swaggered up the stairs, walking like he owned the universe, pure alpha male. He was telling my buddy how thirsty he was (having come straight from one of his weekend jobs).

I yelled out, "You're thirsty?"

His brown eyes met mine. "Yeah."

"You like orange juice?" I asked.

"I LOVE orange juice." A big grin stretched across his handsome face.

I sniffed the air in disdain. "That's nice." And turned back to playing the video game.

THAT was when it happened for both of us. Love at first sight between a cynical salesguy and an even more cynical business gal. Yeah, sound hokey, doesn't it? I never thought love at first sight existed before that moment.

It took five years for my top-notch salesguy to close the deal. Having come from a messed up family I was very cautious. I kept expecting it to fall apart. It didn't though.

When proposing, my seasoned presenter got sick to his stomach. That sealed it for me. I knew if a man who pitched to CEO's was so nervous about asking me to marry him, he must care.

My mom claims I'm part gypsy (the Irish in me). I always like to be on the move. Like Maeve, my heroine in Invisible, I simply have to go. Where? I don't care. That's why spring is my favorite time of year. No, not when the daffodils unfold or the leaves bud. Earlier than that. When the snow melts and there are rivulets of water streaming everywhere. As a child, I tossed twigs into that run off and watch them disappear out of sight. I dreamed of where those tree pieces would end up. And I wished to go with them.
