I am a mother of four sons and have been married to
a fantastic man for almost 15 years. I love living in
a house of men...most of the time. There are a few things,
however, I will never understand. For example...why
can't the male species get their clothing into the laundry
basket. It lands on the floor in the vicinty of the
basket but never in the basket. Do they not see it?
Why are body functions hysterical? Why are they so loud?
I had my 11 year old son's hearing checked only to be
told...he's just loud. Once they (and I) have all survived
puberty, high school and college I am going to write
another book. "An Island of Estrogen in a Sea of
Testosterone: My Life Among Men and Boys"

Q:
How did you and your husband meet? Was it love-at-first-site,
or did he have to convince you a bit? |
Well
the first time I met him I thought he was a big jerk.
It was my junior year of college and I was sitting with
my girlfriend waiting for her boyfriend to come downstairs.
This guy on a neighboring couch was watching CNN and
started making some very conservative comments (I was
raised by hippies/liberals). I turned to my friend and
asked who this jerk was and she waved her hand and said,
"Oh that's just Will". I merely shook my head
at his right wing rhetoric.
Then
the second time was about three weeks later. I was sitting
in the bar across the street from campus. (For the record
I was sober at this point of the evening) Suddenly,
I look up and there he is. He raised his arms and he
had a glass of beer in one hand, a full pitcher in the
other and gave me the biggest smile I had ever seen.
Now...I
know...I should've thought...There's that jerk. But
I didn't. I smiled back and thought...Hey, there's that
guy, Will. The rest is history. That was about 18 years
ago and we'll be married 15 years in September. Politics
is off limits.

Favorite
Time of Year
Christmas
time is my hands down favorite! I love walking up to
my house, with the smell of wood burning in the air,
and seeing the Christmas tree lights twinkling through
the window. Surrounded by family in my living room,
awash in the glow of the Christmas tree and a roaring
fire in the hearth....now that is happiness....that
is perfection.
