"Utterly compelling. Rose delivers the kind of high-wire suspense that keeps you riveted to the edge of your seat." -Lisa Gardner, New York Times bestselling author

Why I Read – And Love – Romance by Karen Rose

It’s the happy endings. When you read romance you know that two people will fall in love and live happily ever after. Maybe they’ll have adventures, but when the dust settles, they are together forever.

Why do we read what we read? Sometimes for simple enjoyment. Sometimes we crave adventure, but skydiving ourselves is too risky so we leap into a book and experience the thrill though our hero or heroine. Sometimes we read to learn about ourselves. And sometimes we read to escape into a world of happy endings for a little while because our own world is too hectic.

I hope you all find enjoyment in DON’T TELL. It’s dark suspense, but love does conquer all. It wouldn’t be a romance otherwise! You’ll find the characters going through hard times. Caroline is a survivor of domestic abuse, forced to fake her own death to save herself and her son. She has an incredible friend, Dana, who supports her through everything. Unfortunately, not everybody has a friend like Dana. If you’re going through a difficult personal journey, please know there are people who care. On my website, you’ll find “Life Links”- links to support sites where people going through similar issues wait to help. The area is small now, but I hope it will grow as readers send me their own “life links”.

Q: Favorite Junk Food.

Karen: Chocolate covered peanuts. Having little M's are nice, but not required.

Q: Time period you would choose if you ever got snatched up by the fates like a heroine in a time travel romance.

Karen: Jacobean Scotland, hands down.

Q: Do you sing in the shower?

:Karen: No, but I do sing in the car to my favorite CD's - alone. That way, nobody gets hurt.

I live in Florida. We have a sunny season and a rainy season, so the sunny season is my favorite <g>. Seriously, when I lived up north, Fall was my favorite. I lived in a suburb of Cincinnati called Liberty Township, OH. It was a quaint place with a hundred-year-old schoolhouse and rolling green hills. My back yard had this forest of tall skinny trees that swayed in the wind and because I lived on a hill, I got a lot of wind. In the Fall, the weather would go brisk and the trees would sway and the leaves would drift so slowly you could follow each one down. It was the most relaxing thing, bundled up on my deck, smelling wood-burning fireplaces, watching the leavesfall ... Then I'd have to rake the leaves. Back to my original thought - I live inFlorida and I like the sunny season.
