Author Jennifer Britt – Guilty Pleasures and Giveaway
In Betting Brenda, peanut buttercups are Brenda’s guilty pleasure. For her, no other candy exists. She even makes pancakes with them.
I have many guilty pleasures. I love Spanish novelas, the Vampire Diaries, and the Bachelor and Bachelorette. I try to refrain from buying fudge and pralines too often because I can easily put away a pound of each in one sitting. But I have one guilty pleasure I’ve never shared with anyone. In honor of Brenda, I’ve decided to come out and tell everyone I love marshmallow.
I buy large marshmallows, miniature marshmallows, and marshmallow spread. I use the miniature marshmallows in my fudge, hot chocolate, and coffee. That’s right. I’m not ashamed to admit that I love marshmallows so much that I will drink my coffee with them floating around in it. When I’m desperately in need of my marshmallow fix, I’ll eat them right out of the bag.
The large marshmallows are for s’mores and roasting, and whatever other uses I come up with. I make a great grilled sandwich with them (think grilled cheese, but with marshmallows).
I spread marshmallow on my toast with peanut butter for breakfast. When I don’t have any peanut butter, I’ll eat my toast with only marshmallow on it. I even put it on my sundaes, instead of whipped cream.
As you can see, I’m completely obsessed with marshmallows. At times, I feel guilty for eating all that sugary goodness. Then I read the labels and see that marshmallows are very low in carbohydrates and my guilt goes away.
I know it’s awful, but there are worse things, right?
Now that I’ve come out, it’s your turn. What’s your guilty pleasure? Comment below for your chance to win an ebook copy of Betting Brenda in the format of your choice.
