I’m in the process of writing a scene from which I’ve actually had to take break, so please excuse if this gets rant-y. If you’ve read my first two books, you know I adore writing about dominant alpha males having their way with my heroines. Not to mention a healthy amount of dirty talk Right now, though? My current heroine is being a pain in the ass. She doesn’t want to be dominated or told where to put her legs, hands, or mouth. She wants to throw down my hero and make him pay for his overblown ego. And I’m kind of in the mood to let her. The problem is, I don’t have a lot of experience writing “women in charge” scenes. I write a sentence, decide she sounds to dominatrix-y (somewhere I don’t quite want to go) and promptly delete the sentence.
I’m going to get this scene right if it kills me. Or the hero, for that matter. Because I know once I get it right, it’s going to be super-hot. The hero and heroine are sworn enemies, further sweetening the pot. Plus, I’m going to take it as a good sign that my heroine is a strong-willed bad ass because I think she’ll connect with readers Look for this one in October!
