How do take the fairy-tale formula of peasant girl meets prince and make it even more romantic? In my opinion, you add chocolate.
Because look, I appreciate a good-looking man, but there are days when I can’t deal with men and I’ve never had a day when I couldn’t deal with chocolate. I’m passionate about it. I crave it. I LOVE it.
So with this sweet idea in mind, I wrote my first fairy tale, which is also my first true romantic novel. My hero is Emmeline Thistle, a lowly dirt-scratcher who is shunned by her people because of her club foot and her mysterious birth. She discovers that she has the magical ability to churn cream into chocolate, a delicacy that is a legend in her kingdom. Because she’s the only person who can create this concoction, Emmeline suddenly finds herself desired by everyone.
Bring on the men.
There’s this guy named Griffin Boar, a peasant boy whose gorgeous good looks make him arrogant beyond measure. There’s the prince who may be charming but are his intentions what they seem? And then there’s the adorable Owen Oak, a dairyman’s son, and while Emmeline longs for him, she feels unworthy of his affection.
I hope you enjoy her journey.
