What makes sexy sizzle? With so many romances out today, it’s hard to figure out what will attract readers to a story. A lot of what I write is in response to wanting to be entertained and not finding exactly what I want out there. I want strong heroines, alpha heroes, and in a menage, I want all body parts of all partners touching. I like elements of BDSM, but not all of it. I’m not a fan of the 24/7 slave role, nor do I enjoy the humiliation, degradation and pain aspects, so in my writing, I tone that down. But the domination? The submission? Psychics, shapeshifters, aliens…bring it on.
In my PowerUp! series, I wanted to see sexy psychics. I love the thought of extrasensory perception as a reality, because in truth there’s so much about the brain we don’t know. It’s quite possible humans can do any manner of things, and there are tons of folks out there who claim to perceive things differently. Clairvoyants, mediums, telepaths. I love them!
In The Lost Locket, I took a man who can move things with his mind, a man who can control fire with his mind, and a woman who uses a locket to enhance her own psychic skills, and threw them together. A big, happy bowl of lust, love, and danger just waiting to be read. And of course, no one can give in easily to anyone else, which makes it that much more fun. Ramping up the tension and the danger enhances the stakes, because people rarely want or trust what comes easily. It’s working to overcome obstacles and earn the reward, that happily ever after, that makes a story work for me.
Here’s a blurb from The Lost Locket. One lucky commenter will win a copy of the book in e-format. Good luck!
A casualty of funding wars and an overzealous Defense Department trying to clean up its reputation after several failed experimental programs, the Psychic Warfare Program (PWP) is scrapped in the throes of its infancy. Its participants are transferred to other defense agencies, but a few decide to leave the government behind, knowing full well their freedom hinges on keeping a low profile and living under the radar.
Life on the outside isn’t easy. Without the constant physical, mental and psychic training they’ve become accustomed to, many of the PWPs best break down, losing control of their abilities and their minds. Returning to Uncle Sam’s open arms seems like their only viable option, until one of their own comes up with an idea that just might work… And the Power Up! Gym is born. Trainers, weights and fitness by day, psychic training and investigative work by night.
Ex-PWP agent Keegan Price likes beer, sex, and relaxing after a hard day’s work. He’s looking forward to exercising his telekinetic skills on a real case. Finding a lost locket seems almost too easy, but hey, it’s a job away from the civilian world. When James Foreman tags along, so much the better. Foreman’s a wiseass who loves a good time, and his ability to manipulate fire with a snap comes in handy. Keegan knows they’re overqualified for this simple retrieval, but he figures he and James have earned a working vacation after spending so many hours in that damned gym. Except the case turns out to be anything but simple. The locket’s a weapon, he and James can’t take their eyes off the woman wearing it, and their spiraling sexual attraction for each other and her makes for one hell of a ride.

In a menage, I want all people to love each other, and not just two people who love one person. It’s great to read that you write about strong heroines, I miss those in a lot of menage stories
And that the men love each other too only makes it better! BDSM is very sexy to read about, it’s even greater if an author can surprise you with the dynamics.
I’ve only read book 5 in this series, in which I really enjoyed the characters, and in this book they sound interesting too

I am sure that all readers will enjoy this book as much as your others. I am not into the rough slave thing either, but find loving menage intriguing.
