Waiting for Cary Grant by Mary Mathew and a giveaway
When you read a novel, do you imagine a favorite movie star as the hero? I do sometimes. I love classic and contemporary movie stars. I’ve even watched silent movies and discovered that Rudolph Valentino looks smoldering.
In my contemporary novel, Waiting for Cary Grant, one of the characters has a Cary Grant obsession. She’s a therapist who is treating the hero’s client:
Harlan Michaels is a powerful trial lawyer who usually flees romance as quickly as his Gucci loafers can carry him. He’s immersed in a deadly wheel case when he meets Lana Stewart, a therapist, who is treating his orphaned client. He’s immediately intrigued by the long legged blonde’s indifference to his wealth and stature. Lana longs for a romance that’s like an old Cary Grant movie.
And then there’s the cute opposing attorney, Stephanie. When Stephanie
asks Harlan to tell her something honestly, he replies,
“I’m a lawyer and I’m your opponent.
I’m a man and I’m attracted.
And you ask for honesty?
No way, Stephanie.”
Is there an actor you’d cast as the hero in one of your favorite novels? Leave a comment and pretend you’re a casting agent…name a favorite novel and the actor you’d cast as its hero. One commenter will win a Kindle copy of Waiting for Cary Grant and a $25 AMC Gift Card. The winner will be announced in the comments on August 24, 2012. I would cast Matthew Mc Coneghy in Slow Heat in Heaven by Sandra Brown. Between his lazy drawl and sizzling appeal it would burn up the screen. Ok, now I’m Embarased. I love this question. Have a great day,

How fun! Cary Grant is fantastic, funny and romantic! I try not to think of real life people or even holiday stars but sometimes those do creep in. I did have one book, wish I could remember more about it, but while I was reading it I could only see Christian Bale!

I’m a big fan of The Bachelor, I loved the season that featured Andrew Firestone,. Seeing him featured as the main character of Because of You by Jessica Scott would be the ideal way to spend any long winter afternoon!

There is no particular actor or actresses that comes to mind as characters in the book I’m reading. It’s usually a blending of features from different people, I’m guessing some from my imagination and some from the cover models if there is one.

That is a really hard question since I don’t like to picture a real person as the hero.
