What
are you plans for the halloween?
I take my two kids downtown for trick-or-treating. Walnut
Creek has a fabulous downtown and all the local stores band
together to hand out treats. The kids run from one store to
another (yeah, it's a total mob scene) and we parents chase
after them, hoping we end up going home with the correct Transformer
or Jedi.
Do
you have a favorite Halloween party trick or recipe you would
like to share?
Those Halloween bags you fill with leaves are an excellent
way to trick your kids into raking the front yard. Or, in
our case (since the leaves uncooperatively refuse to start
falling steadily until November), picking dead leaves out
of the garden. They want giant spiders, ghosts and orange
plastic Jack-o-lanterns? They have to find the leaves to fill
the bags! Best five bucks I ever spent at the Dollar Store!
Do
you have a photo of you in costume you would like to share?
Ooh-- I'm not a dress-up gal. They did convince me at work
one year to go as Morticia from the Adams family. My co-workers
in my department were the other members and we won the costume
contest!
Any
favorite treat you like to give out?
I personally believe I have de-facto picking rights to all
the leftover Halloween candy, so I always try to make sure
we pick up my favorites. I'm a sucker for those little Sugar
Baby packages and peanut butter cups.
Do
you have any other titles besides the one you are promoting
that would be a good Halloween read?
The Hunt is my debut book. Personally, I'd recommend the book
and a bubble bath after you take the kids trick-or-treating!
