So
I went to my first RWA Nationals conference in July. And man was it fabulous!
For various reasons. One being: I'm a single mom and don't get out much. I have
the worst luck with men, but we won't even go there. This is a picture of my toddler
daughter Emma Rose after she's gone a bit nutty with the chocolate ice cream. |

| So back to Nationals. One night the Romance Divas kind of took over the bar and started singing karaoke and dancing. It was a blast! There's the pic of me getting my groove on. |
Good
thing that pic is a still shot, because I so can't dance. *Wince* Overall the
conference was such a great networking and learning experience.One of the highlights
of the conference was the Passionate Ink party which took place at the Georgia
Aquarium. Which if you didn't know is the biggest aquarium in the world. The party
rocked. It was in the ballroom where we could watch baluga whales swimming by
in a big window. Not only did we have great food, drinks, and speakers, but I
also found out I won The Stroke of Midnight contest in my category. My first contest
win! |

| Needless
to say I was walking on clouds. This is a picture of Lacy Danes and I, one of
my closest friends. We're critique partners, on the Seattle RWA board together,
and our kids play together. She's giving me a supportive hug before I found out
the contest results. Then the awards ceremony was another big perk of Nationals.
We all got to wear gorgeous dresses, and make ourselves up all purty. Here's a
pic of a group of us Divas at the ceremony. I'm home now and happy to be back
in mom/writer mode. But I'm saving my pennies, because I cannot wait to go to
Dallas next year! |
